Create Your 2011 Calendars with Mixbook

I love taking photos. They’re a perfect way to remember the past and make great gifts. This year, I’ve collected dozens of photos I’ve taken throughout the year in order to create festive calendars for my loved ones.

People love receiving calendars, especially those with a personal touch. Calendars can liven up a daily routine with pictures of animals or the seasons or different cities and towns… but I’m choosing to customize my calendars for everyone I love, tailored just to them! For my grandma, I’m putting together 12 photos, one for every month, of all of her grandkids at special events, such as the 4th of July barbecue and family birthdays. For my dad, I’m including photos from our incredible trip to France last year. Customizing lends a personal quality to

Don’t Skimp the Small Things

With all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it’s easy to forget about the little things. When Christmas time rolls around, I usually have all of my presents ready to go but forget a certain detail, like the wrapping paper or the envelopes. I’m taking time now to remind all of you readers not to forget about (or sweat!) the small stuff this year.

To think of the long list of items I’ve overlooked (and maybe you have, too)—stocking stuffers, wrapping paper and bows; cards, envelopes, and customized stationery—all things that bring out the intimacy of the season. Keep a Healthy Weight During The Holidays

I love the holidays. It’s a time of being together, singing carols, and hanging out around the fire with your loved ones. It’s also about eating calorie-dense Christmas cookies, turkey stuffing, and homemade pies. Yes, Christmas is a blast, but it’s also a time of packing on those extra pounds.

That’s why, before the holidays hit, I like to eat healthy and lose a few pounds. When you have something to look forward to, like gingerbread cookies, spiced cider, and sweet yams, it’s easier to watch what you eat before the big day (or days!).

Until December 25, Focus 28 Diet has a fantastic deal: the 28 Days of Christmas special. It promotes a healthy—and affordable—approach to successful weight loss. Every day, Focus 28 Diet provides exclusive offers focusing on

Decorating for the Holidays

The best part about the holidays is the decorations. Adorning the house with scented candles and little white lights, covering the tree with tinsel while listening to Christmas carols—what could be better? (Of course, spiked eggnog and Christmas cookies don’t hurt!) It’s a time when the family gathers to be grateful, festive and, most of all, together. At my house, we always put on the Nutcracker soundtrack, while Dad’s in the kitchen making fudge, and the snow falls onto the trees outside. I will remember these family holidays forever—especially how much fun it was to decorate.

My favorite ways to decorate are wrapping the staircase with green pine, placing glowing candles (in gold, silver, white, red and green) all around the house, and stringing the Christmas lights in
