It’s finally summertime, which means I’ve begun looking out my window as I’m working and wistfully dreaming of a weekend get-away vacation. It occurred to me that the 4th of July this year is over a weekend, but I immediately assumed that everyone else has already thought of this and that finding affordable deals would be next to impossible. Unfazed, I was determined to find a way to reunite with some of my college girlfriends in San Francisco for the holiday weekend. The challenge would be staying within my budget.

A package for a flight plus 3 nights in a hotel for the holiday weekend starts at just $231—a pricetag I can definitely afford for a last minute summer get-away.
Travelocity is usually my second stop when booking trips, and I quickly found that I could take advantage of their Hotel Discounts for 3+ Nights. For my proposed 4th of July weekend vacation, I have the option of staying in downtown San Francisco all weekend plus my flight for just $309, which is also entirely reasonable. My next step is getting all my girlfriends on board with the plan, but with these kinds of deals that Coupon-Gurus helped me to find, I know that they’ll be just as anxious as I am to pack their bags.
