Let Summer Games Officially Begin

Summer is no longer on its way.  As of today, it’s officially here. Your summer plans are therefore no longer theoretical.  It’s time to put them into action.

For me there are no vacations this year—only the promise I made to myself that I’d really commit to getting in shape this summer.  I started jogging a few weeks back, and added yoga to the mix last week.  So far so good, but I have a long way to come before my limbs aren’t shaking in and out of downward dog.

As I came back from a run the other day, I realized that I really need a new pair of tennis shoes.  The ones I currently have aren’t giving me enough support, and I always end up with some painful blisters on my heels if I go for a run any longer than a mile.

How to solve the problem?  I headed over to Modell’s to check out their selection of athletic shoes.  As I need extra support and cushioning for my feet, I was pleased to discover that “cushioning” is its own category for athletic shoes at Modells.com!  With some surefire Modell’s savings and coupons from Coupon-Gurus, I’m all set.

Next stop: MC Sports for some more appropriate running and yoga apparel.  It wasn’t tough to walk away with a couple new Under Armour tanks, plus a cute pair of Adidas soccer shorts (in honor of the World Cup, of course—not that I play soccer).  Total savings?  25% when I got creative and combined a couple MC Sports coupons.

And finally, because my summer isn’t entirely about working out, I browsed what Dick’s Sporting Goods has in the way of Summer Fun, and was pleased to find everything under the sun from grills to tents, to kayaks and other water sports fun.  I haven’t settled on anything in particular yet, but I’m tempted to get out on the water soon—especially with the kind of heat Boston’s been experiencing lately.  And of course, Dick’s Sporting Goods coupons and discounts from Coupon-Gurus will help me feel better about the splurge.
